Seeking, Advice

Salutations,
My Name is Solace (well at least on here) I am a Parent that loves god, and my wonderful daughter, Mo. She is 17, and currently undergoing the change in her body called Motherhood. She will be having a baby in late May. I never thought, I'd be a grandmother so early, but I embrace it, and support her. I suffer from agoraphobia.

Agoraphobia: Panic disorder with agoraphobia is an anxiety disorder in which there are repeated attacks of intense fear and anxiety, and a fear of being in places where escape might be difficult, or where help might not be available. Agoraphobia usually involves fear of crowds, bridges, or of being outside alone.

I don't often leave my home, but when I have to I pray allot, and tend to wear sunglasses. Even at night. I know rather quirky. I depend on the Internet, to build friendships, and well GOD blesses me with being available anywhere. My employment situation was grand, I was a live in Caregiver. I also did Virtual assisting on the side. I had been with the Lady I cared for about 5 years.

Sadly this position ended when my daughter, started to show the change in her body. The Lady there-for, terminated my Job Position. So that also ment, moving out. So lets see, 30 Day notice, and a termination letter. It wasn't so bad, because my daughter then told me her great news to my face, and quit hiding it. I was happy about that. I also new that I had to take life one day at a time.

I applied most everywhere for housing, and assistance. I couldn't do my VA work anymore, because I had no stable Internet. So Social Services, it is. I am currently looking for a STABLE place to sleep, and one I can take a deep breath, and not clench my eyes. I have been bunking with a friend, but that ends in a few days.

I never posted my story, till I knew I needed to give up my pride and do so. God provides, and if that means asking for help here, then so be it. I am not wanting cash, But a ROOM or a Job or such. I just want a reliable bed to sleep in, that I know will be there in a month. Past that, Im pushing past my FEAR and hitting the real world for work. And I am succeeding. I'm looking to find others to network with for, resources or information.

This is my story up to date. So, any advice, hot-line info or such would be great. I just need a floor, to crash on. Something to feel safe about in regard to knowing it will be there next week.

Thanks for listening.

Some Links to some Resources

I don't know if anyone knows about these sites already or not. But I figure that maybe one or two might be new. But here's some resources that I've found, not used them all yet...but some have come in handy.

Check them out if you like:

Just when you think the worst has happened, theres always more.

2011 had been a very hectic & tragic year for my family which consists of myself, my husband & our 4 children (10, 8, 5 & a 2 yr old girl) This year started out to be great, I finished college & found a job that I love with decent pay. Life shortly turned around for us after that. My uncle passed away in July, my grandmother passed away in August & then my mother passed away in September :-(. To add to all of that, I have a 5 year old brother who I have taken into my custody. Unfortunately he has several medical issues that require full time care. With myself being the only person he has (his father died when he was 2), I had to quit my job & needless to say, the bills don't stop. I just don't have the means necessary to provide my beautiful children & brother with any christmas gifts this year. If anyone has any resources that you think could benefits these 5 little angels, I would greatly appreciate the info.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post. May everyone have a blessed holiday.

About Lindamn

I am disabled and unable to work and even though I am struggling I am still trying to make a difference in others lives by helping with donating clothes and household items I don't need any more and trying to get help to open a non profit, no kill animal shelter that will not only help the animals but can help the low income, disabled, elderly and even homeless keep their pets and to help cut down on the strays and over population of animals being thrown to the streets. I am also going to work the shelter to assist in theraputic programs to help with depression, autism and so on.

I am so glad that I found this page.. Not just because I have found helpful individuals but because it gives me the ability to be one myself.. I have read so much about so many people and it pains me but also pushes me to try to find anything I can that may help in some way, or to at least send a message letting them know that someone is out there thinking of them.. If anyone who is having issues comes across my page and even just needs someone to vent to that won't judge them, feel free.. I try to look at the locations that people give and find any kinds of resources in their area.. I did the same for myself before coming here or to craigslist to post an add looking for oddjobs and to attempt to sell art, but I live in a town in missouri that's overly impoverished and it seems everyone needs the same help I do, but I don't mind trying for others.. I know I'm a stranger, but I'm here..

Where to Turn?

Hello to everyone, I may have double posted, but I didnt see my post when I hit the refresh button, So I wanted to create a profile and post again. I'm the mother of 3 and I recently lost my job. I have spent hours on top of hours trying to research programs or any type of assistance for families that have fallen into this economic blow. I've read that we are no longer in recession (post recession). And I wonder where they get this information?
I grew up in the projects, but worked my way out the hood 25 years ago for the sake of my children and their future. I have worked all my life and even had 2 jobs at a time because we do whatever it takes to provide for our children. I have went to job fair after job fair just to be told to go online and submit an application. I have submitted applications on line through job portals, dol listings, and any other site you can think of.
I have a ba in Criminal Justice/Psychology and was working on my MA in Clinical Psychology. But after losing my job I thought it would be a wise jump to change up my degree plan with hopes to graduating and making a career change.
There are no known programs for families that face tough times after losing their jobs. Your penalized for using up your 401k and long after the 401k is gone, your still left to wonder where your going to lay your head. I've done search after search for housing assistance or affordable housing just to find out that there is no such thing unless its low income, but yet low income seems to be a death sentence. And even if your willing to go that route, the waiting list for assistance or help is years long.
So you buckle up and keep just the necessities which are light/gas, water, food, rent, and you try to keep your car because not every place is public transit accessible and worst case scenario you can sleep in your car. But even that is too much when you don't have any income flowing into your home. McDonalds and any other place that may pay min wage says your over qualified. So where do you go? Who do you turn to?
How can you prevent your family from being homeless? What programs are out there for someone needing assistance or help urgently?
Why is it that the government provides housing and rent free programs for those that refuse to work, but those that have worked all their lives and fall into tough times cant get a helping hand?
This must be the most stressful situation I have ever been in my entire life and to be honest, I don't see how I'm going to survive. This is the first time I've admitted that thought *How will I survive*. I"ve told my kids that everything will be okay thinking that maybe I'd get a job... But reality is I'm scared and I'm tired!
If anyone knows of any links, information, or contact numbers that could point me in the right direction PLEASE post or email.

Feeling Good And Trying To Help Others Feel The Same

I'm feeling good today. It's pouring down raining and I'm naked in my bed eating icecream. My website featured a woman who dealt with spiritual abuse today. The article is great, you should read it. I am also beginning to make videos for my project. It's a large undertaking but someone has to do it. Please wish me luck and send your prayers. The more people who partner with me, the more women I can help.

Resources does not equal cash in the mail

This is my own personal stance where Aidpage is concerned, and does not reflect the views of others or the views of Aidpage. I do my best to find local resources for people who need help. I also do my best to write motivational articles to help inspire others, however that does not mean I am simply going to be sending cash to everyone who asks for it. In fact, I will not send any cash. I will point you in the direction for help, but that is all. I do not believe I am the personal bank for everyone who comes to this site.

I have been seeing a few things that disturb me as of late on Aidpage. The first one is the number of people who come here saying "Send me money for this or that", and when resources or agency numbers are provided the person simply complains that they are of no help and please send monies instead. I cannot speak for others but I have my own expenses, and family needs to provide for, and I cannot provide those for the world, even if I wish I could.

The second thing I've seen quite a lot of recently are scams and sketchy non for profit organizations popping up all over Aidpage asking for monies. I have no issues with non for profits, but the ones I've been seeing have no legitimate base, only offer paypal accounts, and come straight out and say "send us your money". I would hope that moderators of this site would investigate, but I would simply advise that people use their better judgement. Do not send monies to sites that are not legitimate organizations. Those you find to be fraudulent please turn over to the Better Business Bureau of the appropriate state.

 Namaste-Anora
